The Unofficial Official Firearm Conversion Guide [SR4 to SR5]

    I have compared the two versions (SR4 + Arsenal, vs SR5) for all weapons from Tasers to Assault Cannons. These are not my conversion methods, but the conversion method which CATALYST used. It is how they changed Firearms from SR4 to SR5. Here are the results:

    DAMAGE VALUE CHANGES

    Tasers have had their DV raised by +1DV. ---------------------- Holdsout have had their DV raised by +2DV. ---------------------- Pistols & SMGs have had their DV raised by +2DV to +3DV. (This includes Light, Heavy, Machine Pistols, and Submachine Guns). ---------------------- Assault Rifles have had their DV raised from +3DV to +5DV. (+3DV for ColtM23 & +5DV for Ares Alpha). ---------------------- Shotguns hve had their DV raised from +3DV to +6DV. (+3DV Defiance T; +4DV PJSS Model55; +6DV Enfiels AS-7). ---------------------- Sniper Rifles have had their DV raised from +5-6DV. ---------------------- Sporting Rifles have had their DV raised by exactly +4DV. ---------------------- LMG has had its DV raised by exactly +3DV. ---------------------- MMG has had its DV raised by exactly +4DV. ---------------------- HMG has had its DV raised by exactly +5DV. ---------------------- Panther XXL Cannon has had its DV raised by exactly +7DV. ---------------------- Missiles have increased by +7DV. +8DV for Anti-Vehicle Rockets. ---------------------- Stun Grenades have increased by +4DV. ---------------------- Grenades have increased by +6DV. ----------------------

    ARMOR PIERCING CHANGES

    Fletchette rounds are resisted better with armor, from +2AP to +4AP. ---------------------- All Electric STUN (e) AP has went from -half to -5. ---------------------- Heavy Pistols have no change to AP at all. ---------------------- Assault Rifles are more armor piercing, from -1AP to -2AP. ---------------------- Sport Rifles are more armor piercing, from -1AP to -3AP to -4AP. ---------------------- Sniper rifles are more armor piercing, from a universal -3 to a more specific_to_weapon -4 or -5. ---------------------- Cannons are more armor piercing, from -5AP to -6AP. ---------------------- High Explosives have no change in armor piercing. (Grenades and Rockets). ---------------------- Fragmentation Explosions are resisted better with armor, from +2AP to +5AP. ---------------------- Anti-Vehicle Rockets are more armor piercing, from -2/-6 to -4/-10. ----------------------

    MAJOR COST CHANGES

    I have included minor costs (<1000¥) in the final quick calculations. For >1000¥ I rounded up 50¥-200¥ or averaged only a handful of firearms. Firearms <1000¥ are averaged, but make a lot of sense given the increased cost of SR5 gear. ----------------------

    Sniper Rifles, which are now 10,000¥ to 20,000¥ more expensive. ---------------------- Machine Guns, which are now 3,000¥ to 4,000¥ more expensive; 9,000¥ for heavy. ---------------------- Cannons, which are now 38,000¥ more expensive. ----------------------

    Short and sweet, this is how I'd do a quickrule: So anyone wanting to do a "Quick Conversion" from SR4's Arsenal, Weapon Heaven, or Weapon Heaven 2, should use these rules:

    Fletchette Weapon: Add +2AP ---------------------- Electric Stun Rounds: Replace all electric -half with -5 AP ----------------------

    NOW FRAG OFF, FRAG FACE!

    If I missed anything, goodluck! Just get a copy of SR4 and SR5 yourself and compare, because THIS TOOK ME ALL NIGHT TO TYPE OUT! :P You'll have to do your own ACC additions, as there is no conversion for it.

    Wow, this completely destroyed my formatting...

    Anyone know what this forum uses for formatting?

    I promise you, it looked A LOT nicer when I typed it all out before hitting "Post" or "Save Edit".

    Don't sweat the formating too much, this is still lots of great info and it's still readable.
